Rural Communities to Benefit from AI Literacy Initiative
The Amana Inclusive Technology Initiative (AITI) is expanding AI literacy programs for rural and underserved communities across Nigeria through training delivered in indigenous languages.
At the recent AI Advantage Workshop in Maiduguri, students and aspiring entrepreneurs received hands-on training on AI tools for business, content creation, civic engagement, and market analysis — many experiencing AI education in Hausa.
AITI also plans to establish community tech hubs and develop local language datasets to support AI learning in Hausa, Kanuri, Yoruba, Igbo, Fulfulde, Pidgin, and other African languages.
Focused on job creation, education, and public accountability, the initiative aims to ensure rural communities are not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
