The Amana Inclusive Technology Initiative has received an Equivalency Determination (ED) certification from NGOsource formally recognizing AITI as the equivalent of a U.S. Certified Public Charity.

What NGOsource Is
NGOsource is a due-diligence service used by some of the world’s largest foundations including the MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Hewlett Foundation to verify that international non-profits meet the legal and governance standards required before a U.S. grantmaker can fund them directly.
What It Means for AITI
In practical terms, this certification opens doors that were previously closed not because our work wasn’t ready, but because the paperwork wasn’t. U.S.-based funders who use NGOsource can now process grants directly to AITI without requiring an intermediary or re-doing their own due diligence from scratch.
This matters because the foundations most aligned with AITI’s mission like building AI and digital literacy in local languages, empowering young people especially in conflict-affected zones, piloting technology for conflict prevention are overwhelmingly U.S.-based.
